“Authority: The Foundation for Apologetics”
An exploration of the early formation of the authoritative Magisterium of the Catholic Church, Apostolic succession, Sacred Tradition, & the continuing need for apologetics in the Church.
“The Bible: Its History, What It Is, And What It Is Not”
An examination of the development & canonization of the Bible, what the Bible has to say about itself, and how to respond to anti-Catholic claims about the Bible.
Jim Blackburn is a cradle Catholic who studied Catholicism and other faiths, eventually becoming an apologist for Catholic Answers. A regular guest on the Catholic Answers Live radio program, Jim also supervised the Q&A department, & was a regular contributor to Catholic Answers Magazine. Jim is the author of the book 101 Quick Questions with Catholic Answers: Marriage, Divorce, and Annulment. Jim holds certificates in philosophy and theology from John Paul the Great Catholic University & is working toward his master’s degree in theology.
I am pleased to announce the name of the new St. Maria Goretti School Principal:
Mrs. Leah Rios.
Mrs. Rios comes to as the former Assistant Principal at St. Andrew’s Parish and School in Fort Worth where she has served for four years. Born in San Marcos, Mrs. Rios was raised in San Antonio, Texas. She is the youngest of seven. Married, Leah Rios has four children. She has been a Professional Educator and Administrator for fifteen years, having taught every grade level including high school.
Mrs. Rios is a resident of Arlington and now a parish member at here at St. Maria’s. She also holds a Master of Education and numerous certifications and certificates. Our new Principal enjoys a wonderful professional reputation in the Metroplex as she also gives training and on-going education seminars for faculties in the public schools.
